Pine Forest
The pine forest is found largely in the mountains of Mexico and Guatemala. To a lesser extent, pine forests also extend to Nicaragua, but not continuously but in isolated patches. The pine forest is also a dominant forest type on some islands in the Bahamas, Cuba, and Hispaniola.

The vegetative composition of the pine forest varies from areas dominated by only one species of pine to areas with two to several species of Pine.
Throughout Mexico and Guatemala, the pine forests are generally found above 2000 meters, but down to 500 meters in parts of Nicaragua. In the Bahamas and Cuba, pine forests can be found in the lowlands and in the highlands. On the island of Hispaniola, the pine forest generally ranges above 1500 meters.
